Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum – 4100 IL-53 Lisle, IL 60532

The Morton Arboretum is a great local outdoor attraction no matter what time of the year it is and during the winter is no exception. Their yearly Illumination event is continued with some spectacular lights and trees on display, from their website

“You’ll be surrounded by color as you walk a one-mile paved path amid interactive lighting effects that highlight the beauty of trees in winter. Enjoy seasonal music, marvel at ever-changing, interactive lighting designs, and warm up by a crackling fire with a cozy drink or roast marshmallows for s’mores.

This year offers fresh twists on favorite experiences and surprising new sights, including art from HYBYCOZO–amazing treelike sculptures that spread intricate designs of light. Hug a tree to see how it responds, let star-like lights wash over you in a grove of trees, and watch multicolored lights dance to symphonic music.”

The event goes until through the New Year and tickets are $23/person during the weekend and $18/person during the weekdays.

Even after the lights are down after the holidays and new year it is still a wonderfully beautiful place to walk around, have some hot chocolate and enjoy the colors of winter in their huge property of gardens, forests, and more.
