The Westminster area lies in the perfect in-between of the urban city and the quiet mountains – real farms and real pumpkin patches are right down the road from us. With us now in October it is time to squeeze in all of the fall fun possible before our all too familiar winter hits. We have listed some fantastic Westminster area Fall activities for your families to enjoy.
Rock Creek Farm – 2005 S 112th Street Broomfield, CO
If picking pumpkins is on your checklist then Rock Creek Farm absolutely should be added onto your Westminster area Fall activities list. RCF has over 100 acres of pumpkins to pick from, and they even allow you to drive your car in the fields to collect your finds! Along with a giant corn maze located right to their family fun area, this is a great choice for a kid friendly Fall afternoon. Check out the farm before you go and check out their map here.
YA YA Farm & Orchard – 6914 Ute Highway Longmont, CO
If enjoying the flavors of Fall is up your alley then YA YA is an easy way to spend the whole day indulging in nature. YA YA Orchard has a U Pick-It program where you can reserve a time to harvest your own apples, cherries, pears and more. But food isn’t the only attraction here – from the Hard Cider Workshop to the Gourd Painting and if you’re feeling charitable, Adopting an Apple Tree this is the place to go to really explore fall. Halloween Harvest Festival – 5453 West 88th Avenue Westminster, CO
If you are looking for something simple and most of all FREE, then Westminster’s Harvest Festival is a good pick for your families Westminster are Fall activities list. Located downtown the Harvest Festival will offer fun & games for kids, trick or treating, pumpkin picking, and for the adults they even have a live band playing alongside a beer garden and food trucks. With even more to do than what is listed it is sure to be a great time. The festival will be taking place on Saturday, October 20 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM, the city of Westminster is expecting this to be a busy event so plan accordingly.
The Frightmare Compound – 10798 Yukon Street Westminster, CO
If you are looking for more tricks instead of treats then the The Frightmare Compound Haunted House in Westminster is the perfect adult-only addition to your Westminster area Fall activities. They are open every night all the way until November 3rd, 3 days after Halloween night! This is the oldest haunted house in the Denver area, so these folks have had plenty of time to refine their techniques and really get a scare out of you. There are 2 other haunted houses they operate with different themes as well, House of Darkness and Lights Out, clowns and darkness respectively.
